Stickney’s Boulder

Stickney’s Boulder, a glacial erratic, was named for the people who owned the land where the boulder is located. The largest boulder in Essex County, the boulder is 18 feet high and located on Center Street, near the intersection of Center Street, Rollins Street and Bare Hill Road. The boulder dates from the Ice Age and is of horneblende diorite composition.
